Ready for the outdoor season!

Training dogs doesn’t have to take place in stuffy indoor halls anymore, because spring is here! Dog training sessions are moving outdoors in droves and many a dog owner can use the necessary accessories with this move to the open air. In this blog we highlight three smart reward bags by our brands, that are especially designed for dogs and their owners. Because if you want to teach dogs to listen, you’ll have to reward them now and again. That’s why a treat bag is an essential dog accessory.

  • Bandee by Owney Outdoor

At the beginning of 2021 we were happy to introduce in the Benelux countries the Bandee: pouch+, made by the new brand Bandee by Owney. The bag was an instant success and that’s because of the clever design of the Bandee: pouch+. The waist bag doesn’t get in the way while walking or running and is made of the environmentally friendly Neoprene. Because of this material, the waist bag feels very light and is dirt repellent. Of course, the Bandee: pouch+ offers plenty of room for all the essentials during a dog training session. The waist bag is equipped with two outer pockets and two hidden zippered pockets on the inside. With those pockets there’s enough room to carry dog treats, a clicker, dog poop bags, extra dog leash and a bottle of water. Want to take a folded water container and a cell phone? No problem, because that also fits easily in the bag. The Bandee: pouch+ is available in sizes S to XL.

  • Click ‘n Treat of EQDOG

The Click ‘n Treat from EQDOG has been an absolute bestseller for years. And that’s because you can open this reward bag with one hand with the hinged closure. In a jiffy you can conjure up a treat from the waist bag and easily close the bag to keep the dog focused. The removable inner pocket is also washable, greaseproof and waterproof. Looking for a place to place your phone, cards, keys or clicker while training your dog? You don’t need to keep them in between the dog treats. The Click ‘n Treat by EQDOG was developed by professional dog trainers and equipped with an extra long and adjustable strap – up to 150 cm long – so that the bag remains stable in any position. The bag is available in the colours orange and black.

  • Pouch Organizer™ from DOG Copenhagen

Do you prefer not to walk around with a bag around your hips? Then the Pouch Organizer by DOG Copenhagen is made for you. This ‘leash bag’ is an ultra-smart storage pouch that you can attach to any dog leash from DOG Copenhagen. The pouch is 14 cm long, 6 cm wide and 3 cm high and contains two compartments and a built-in poop bag dispenser. This makes it easy to your carry dog treats and doggy bags and still have a separate compartment left for things like your keys or cards. The durable and water-repellent nylon fabric with efficient 3M™ reflective piping keeps the contents safe and dry and will make sure your dog is seen by other road users. The Pouch Organizer is available in black, red, green, blue, orange, purple and pink.

Pomppa on the road to carbon neutrality

Pomppa has signed the Finnish Carbon Neutral Textile 2035 covenant. By doing so, the sympathetic producer of dog coats promises to work hard for hip and comfortable dog coats that are manufactured carbon neutrally. According to CEO Minna Hyrsky, this fits in with the company’s core values: “We want to learn and improve ourselves every day, so that we can leave a positive footprint.”

High sustainability bar

Finland has big ambitions: it wants to be completely carbon neutral by 2035. The Finnish business community is taking the lead in this ambition with sector-specific roadmaps for a low-carbon economy. The Carbon Neutral Textile 2035 alliance was conceived by employers’ organization Suomen Tekstiili & Muoti ry. Within the alliance, several Finnish textile and fashion brands are actively working together to find ways to reduce their climate impact. They receive tools, training and guidance to work together to make the sector carbon neutral by 2035.

Sustainable dog coats

The Carbon Neutral Textile 2035 alliance fits perfectly with Pomppa’ ambitions. “This is just one step on our path to becoming a more sustainable company, but an important one”, says Minna Hyrsky, CEO of Pomppa. “This alliance provides us with a set of tools and a shared goal, but we also know that this is not enough. We want to set more ambitious goals for our activities, because more climate action is needed at a much faster pace.” With the Carbon Neutral Textile 2035 alliance, Pomppa aims to identify and target its own carbon emissions with effective actions.

Sustainable dog coats

To leave a more positive footprint, Pomppa is working on more responsible ways of working and producing in a variety of ways. Pomppa’ dog coats therefore do much more than provide protection from the elements. The coats offer plenty of freedom of movement, have a functional and timeless design, and are made to last. The Finnish company wants every dog to fully enjoy outdoor activities, regardless of the weather, and the sustainable coats will last a dog’s life. Pomppa’s dog coats also stay perfectly in place without painful straps or elastic bands. And that makes the brand very popular in the dog sport world as well.
