What’s more, the new O-ring ensures that your safety light remains waterproof to a depth of 100 metres. Without a properly fitting, soft seal, moisture can seep in and cause irreparable damage to the electronics. That’s why it’s crucial to replace the ring every time you change the battery. The kit includes a new, silicone O-ring precisely moulded to fit the Orbiloc housing, ensuring a perfect seal for years to come.

When to Replace the Batteries? Safety first! If your Orbiloc Safety Light starts to dim or becomes less responsive, it’s usually time to use the Service Kit.

What About Standard Batteries?

Thinking of using other batteries? In a dry environment, that’s fine as long as you choose high-quality batteries – but not all of them last as long. In autumn and winter, when humidity levels are higher, it’s strongly recommended to use the official Orbiloc Service Kit to keep your light fully waterproof. Keep in mind:

• Voltage differences: not all CR2032 batteries provide the same voltage or discharge rate. Cheaper ones may deliver lower power, causing the light to dim or fail.
• Shorter lifespan: original Orbiloc batteries are selected for their long runtime (up to 250 hours of continuous use). Imitations often last less than half as long.
• Leakage risk: cheap batteries can leak, especially in damp or fluctuating temperatures. This can corrode the contacts and damage the seal – and ruin the entire light.
